Outdoor First Aid (2 day) A two day course designed to be interactive and flexible. It is suitable for those working in or taking part in leisure activities in remote locations. Training and scenarios are based on being more than several minutes up to several hours from help until the rescue team arrives. This course will be adapted for individual requirements, for example forestry workers, hill walkers and canoeists will all have different care needs. The first day covers the core First Aid issues and the second day builds upon these. This qualification covers the needs of the outdoor national governing bodies for their Instructor awards. Suitable for, ML, SPA, BCU, RYA, BOF, MIA, MIC etc. The qualification is valid for three years.View Dates

Paediatric 12 hour courseThis course requires twelve hours student / tutor contact and covers all of the topics required by Ofsted for Childminders and Nursery Workers. Due to the length of this course, we offer a flexible timetable to enable candidates balance study with working and family contact time. This course satisfies the mandatory requirements for those working in Early Years Education and is a pre-requisite for many of the Child Care qualifications. The course provides training in common First Aid incidents including injury and illness. The qualification is valid for three years.No dates

AEDThe AED (automated external defibrillator) is a piece of technology that is now frequently used by members of the general public and not just ambulance paramedics. These easy to use machines greatly improve the chances of survival when used by trained First Aiders. This course is a requirement for any organisation that has an AED or for First Aiders who will be using them. The half day course will provide you with a Certificate of Attendance and students should retrain every 6 months to keep their skill and knowledge base up to date. Emergency First Aid at WorkThe 6-hour course covers dealing with incidents, calling for help, treatment of the unconscious casualty, CPR techniques, dealing with bleeding, contents of a first aid kit and medical emergencies. Course covers the minimum emergency First Aid requirements as set out by the HSE for the new legislation changes to be implemented in October 2009. An Appointed Person for the workplace in first aid legislation terms is someone who is responsible for keeping the first aid kit stocked, and for ensuring that an ambulance is called if needed in an emergency situation. It will leave candidates confident in dealing with an emergency situation whilst awaiting the ambulance and give a basic understanding of the impact of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 upon the workplace.No dates

First Aid at Work (3 days)This comprehensive first aid course complies with the current Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations. Employers are legally obliged to ensure First Aid provision for their employees and this is the most common qualification used by organisations. This course is designed around practising responses to 'real life' scenarios. This qualification is valid for three years and is designed to meet the varied needs of different organisations. The FAW course is a practical 18 hour course (over a minimum of 3 days) which follows the recommended syllabus by the HSE. It has a formal examination on practical elements of the course. Candidates are required to show competency in basic life support, care of an unconscious casualty and treatment of a wounded or injured conscious casualty.No dates
