I truly hope I will never face the more dramatic scenarios we discussed and explored. Actually nothing more than a (small) blister works fine for me. But we were given clearly presented relevant information with a specific focus and a practical element. We had information delivered with the weight of experience. Nothing was 'wrong': we explored how a decision could have been 'better' and - the Big Deal - why. I would still rather experience nothing more than a blister - but I was given the opportunity to develop the skill and the confidence to understand what to do in more significant situations.

The quality of the delivery was excellent throughout. Luke was an outstanding tutor, and this was the second time I have attended this course with him. His depth of knowledge, calm manner, and engaging delivery style really stood out. He created a supportive and welcoming learning environment, encouraged questions and discussion, and was very effective at adapting content to the needs and experience of the group.
The resources were very well prepared and well suited to outdoor first aid, with realistic equipment and scenarios that supported practical, hands‑on learning. Everything was clearly organised, which helped the course run smoothly over the two days.

This was my second First Aid course organised through Watchtree Nature Reserve. The first by a different provider, whilst adequate, stuck to basics and didn't inspire my confidence.
Lakes First Aid was, thankfully, completely different. Delivered with boundless and infectious enthusiasm and containing the latest advice and techniques. The repeated practical sessions really helped to consolidate the learning.
The very useful hints and tips on how to access emergency information and make the most of what a mobile telephone can provide was eye opening. The defibrillator demonstration has made me feel much more confident in their use if needed.
Overall an excellent course to gain new knowledge and techniques and has made me feel significantly more confident that if I found someone in need of assistance I would help rather than stand by and hope that someone else would step in.
