This was my second First Aid course organised through Watchtree Nature Reserve. The first by a different provider, whilst adequate, stuck to basics and didn't inspire my confidence.
Lakes First Aid was, thankfully, completely different. Delivered with boundless and infectious enthusiasm and containing the latest advice and techniques. The repeated practical sessions really helped to consolidate the learning.
The very useful hints and tips on how to access emergency information and make the most of what a mobile telephone can provide was eye opening. The defibrillator demonstration has made me feel much more confident in their use if needed.
Overall an excellent course to gain new knowledge and techniques and has made me feel significantly more confident that if I found someone in need of assistance I would help rather than stand by and hope that someone else would step in.

I was really glad that the trainer taught us about the difference with male and female heart attack symptoms and spoke about removing bras when using a defibrillator. He was very knowledgeable about the statistics on women being less likely to receive CPR. This is the first time I have seen a first aid trainer acknowledge this and I think it’s great. 10/10

An excellent course delivered by an accomplished trainer who tailored the input to the needs of the group. One delegate really didn’t like blood and Andrew went to great lengths to teach bleeding and bandaging using alternative words for blood. Very cleverly done.
